About Reed City, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in Osceola County, Michigan, Reed City serves as the county seat and is home to about 2,500 people. The city is found at the beautiful crossroads of US-10 and US-131. The city is situated about 10 miles north of Big Rapids, and Grand Rapids is 70 miles due south. Reed City Area Public Schools serves the community, and older children will complete their public education at Reed City High School.
While Reed City primarily serves as a residential community, there are several interesting places to visit here. Reed City serves as a major connection of the state’s Rails-to-Trails system, as the Pere Marquette and White Pines trails intersect here. Cycling enthusiasts may like to take a bike ride to one of the surrounding communities, including Bay City or Ludington. Outdoor recreation is plentiful at Rambadt Park and Rambadt Park Campground. There are also several unique restaurants found within the city, such as Seven Slot Grille, Sunny’s Sports Bar and Grill, and China King.
Like much of Michigan, Reed City is part of a humid continental climate zone. Winters here are cold and snowy, and average daily high tempreatures in the peak of the season hover around the freezing point. Heavy snow and the potential for dangerous winter storms also exist, so it is critical that residents prepare at home. A reliable gas or electric furnace is a necessity to make it through the season safely and comfortably.
Summers in Reed City offer very warm temperatures, making it an ideal time for residents to get outdoors and enjoy nature. However, humidity levels tend to be high, making temperatures in the 80s feel even warmer. To stay comfortable at home, it is important that residents have the right climate control systems, and central air is the preference. Residents in search of a new central A/C unit should consider the system’s SEER rating and energy efficiency ratio, as higher ratings will lead to cost savings.
